Unusually for the Mandarin Oriental brand, this lakeside stunner is an authentic Belle Époque landmark, renovated and restored to its 1906 glory. As a result, Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern is packed with a great deal more personality than the typical contemporary luxury hotel. The style, however, doesn’t preclude lavish modern comforts, both in and out of the rooms and suites. Still, the hotel’s best attributes are timeless ones: the panoramic views of Lake Lucerne and the Alps, the Spa Bellefontaine, and the restaurants, which include a modern French option in the Two-MICHELIN-Star Colonnade and an exquisite Japanese restaurant, the One-MICHELIN-Star Minamo.
