Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc has been the most celebrated hotel on the French Riviera since 1870. F. Scott Fitzgerald immortalised it in Tender is the Night; Picasso, Hemingway, and Marlene Dietrich were regulars. The 117 rooms are spread across the main villa and the Eden-Roc pavilion, with a saltwater pool carved into the rocks above the Mediterranean that is the most photographed in the world. The hotel accepts cash only — no credit cards — a policy that has remained unchanged for 150 years.
