Amangalla

Amangalla occupies the New Oriental Hotel, built by the Dutch East India Company in 1684 inside the walls of Galle Fort — a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 30 rooms and suites are arranged around a central courtyard, their interiors a study in colonial elegance: four-poster beds, antique Ceylon furniture, and hand-woven textiles. The Aman Spa draws on Ayurvedic traditions from the surrounding Galle district. Amangalla is the finest base for exploring the southern coast of Sri Lanka — the whale-watching grounds of Mirissa, the surf breaks of Weligama, and the ancient temples of the Galle district.
